FIRST ANNUAL MOOSE RIDERS 46 RIDE TO
MARIETTA, OHIO MOOSE LODGE 1823

Pan Head

The overnight ride to the Marietta, Ohio Moose Lodge on 9/28/11 to 9/29/11 was fantastic. Great weather and great scenery through West Virginia and Ohio.

First stop on the ride was for lunch at Bill's Place in Yorkville, Ohio known for their famous Bar B Q Ribs but also known for tons of Bill Mazeroski memorabilia. Maz went to High School in nearby Tiltonsville Ohio. We continued down the Scenic Ohio River Route 7 and crossed the Ohio River at Moundsville West Virginia where we picked up Route 2 to Sistersville West Virginia. At Sistersville we took the Historic Sistersville Ferry back across the Ohio River to Fly, Ohio where we continued south again on Route 7. At New Matamoras we entered the Wayne National Forest and took the twisty Route 26 through scenic covered bridge country to Marietta, Ohio. We spent the evening meeting new friends at the Marietta Moose Lodge. Denise the bartender, Bob the Governor, Larry, Betty and Glowstick were the perfect hosts. Thanks guys

We lodged the evening at the beautiful Historic Lafayette Hotel which is located at the corner of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers. The Lafayette is a Grand River Boat Era Hotel who's decor is based on the cabins of old River Boats. Breakfast the next morning in the beautiful Gun Room of the hotel and then we were off for the return trip home. Stopped one last time for lunch again at Bill's Place in Yorkville, Ohio and returned home. You could not ask for more variety in a 30 hour ride. We all had a great time.

The Moose Riders 46 would like to thank the Marietta, Ohio Moose Lodge 1823 for their hospitality and friendship. We hope to make this ride an annual event.
